Shipping, Learning, and Listening with Mirai Alpha

Mirai’s first alpha release to internal Omise builders — a small, intentional test focused on real workflows, honest feedback, and learning fast before scaling.

Mirai Alpha: Shipping, Learning, and Listening 🎄✨

Today, we released Mirai Alpha to a small group of internal Omise employees.

Not as a big launch.
Not as a polished announcement.
But as a thoughtful first step — to put Mirai into real users.

Why start small?

For this first alpha, we invited 3–5 internal testers using three simple criteria:

  • Heavy users, based on an admin list

  • Early sign-ups from the Mirai waitlist

  • Team members available during the Christmas period (not OOO)

Our first Mirai Alpha testers

We brought together a small but diverse group across engineering, design, and IT:

  • Staff Software Engineer

  • Solution Architect

  • Design Ops Senior

  • IT Support Specialist

  • IT Support Manager

This mix reflects how Mirai is meant to be used — not just for writing code, but for supporting the full lifecycle of building, configuring, debugging, and maintaining systems.

What happened (the honest version)

People jumped in. And things… broke.
Which is exactly what we hoped for.

During the session, testers explored Mirai’s setup and workflows, surfaced configuration issues (signatures, file creation, quota limits), and helped validate early assumptions about how Mirai should fit into real developer environments.

We also received early product feedback — including requests for:

  • Clearer configuration guidance

  • Better separation of chat vs. workspace context

  • Opinions on how Mirai should approach project documentation and organization

This feedback loop — fast, candid, and collaborative — is the entire point of running an alpha this early.

What’s next

This is intentionally just the beginning.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll:

  • Iterate quickly on feedback from alpha testers

  • Improve onboarding and configuration flows

  • Sharpen Mirai around real developer workflows, not assumptions

If you’re internal to Omise — thank you for helping shape Mirai from day one.
If you’re reading this externally — this is us building carefully, in the open, one honest step at a time.

Here’s to small launches, real feedback, and software that earns trust.
Happy holidays from the Mirai team 🎄💜
